Ranbir Kapoor As Lord Ram

The first look of Ranbir Kapoor’s magnum opus Ramayana: Part One is finally out, and it has taken the internet by storm. Playing the role of Lord Ram, Ranbir’s first glimpse has instantly grabbed attention, creating massive buzz across social media.

Released on the special occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, the teaser is nothing short of a visual spectacle. With grand visuals and a larger-than-life scale, the film has left fans extremely excited for what promises to be an epic cinematic experience. The film is slated for a Diwali 2026 release.

Ranbir Kapoor looks absolutely royal and majestic as Lord Ram, perfectly embodying the calm and powerful aura associated with the character. However, the actor revealed that he was initially hesitant to take up such a monumental role.

“I remember when Namit offered me this part around four years back, my instant reaction was: ‘I am not fit enough, good enough.’ I felt I wouldn’t be able to do full justice. But that fear quickly turned into gratitude because opportunities like this were something I truly needed in my life,” he shared.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is a two-part epic saga featuring an ensemble cast. Yash plays Ravana, while Sai Pallavi stars as Sita. Sunny Deol will be seen as Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey takes on the role of Lakshman. The film also features Arun Govil as King Dasharatha, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, and Kunal Kapoor as Indra, among others.

Despite the excitement, the teaser has received mixed reactions from fans. While many praised the scale, performances, and visuals, some viewers expressed disappointment with the VFX and color grading, saying they expected more from such a high-budget project.

With a staggering ₹4,000 crore ($500 million) budget, Ramayana: Part One is shaping up to be India’s most ambitious film ever. Fans can’t wait to witness this epic spectacle on the big screen this Diwali 2026.
